Here is what It’s Your London guests are saying about us. I send my thanks to them all!

Anne and Chuck from Texas, USA

We recommend Sue’s personalized London tours.  She has an excellent feel for the big city and will customize your days based on your particular interests. We spent 2 days with her, one for a general introduction to the must-see sights and the second day was traveling around to different neighborhoods and lesser known, fascinating and fun places that only insiders know about.  Definitely book her to discover this fascinating city of London.

Why choose It’s Your London?

We had never been to London and were planning to spend 4 days in London with our 11 y/o grandson and wanted to maximize efficiency to see as much as possible of his priority sites. We had had good experiences in the past with individualized tours in Asia and were looking for the same in London. We found the Itsyourlondon site and contacted Sue Hillman. She was incredibly approachable and promised to do the necessary planning to achieve our goal for our 1st day in London. Thanks to her meticulous advanced planning it was a tremendous success! We met her at 9 AM and set off on the Tube for the Churchill War Rooms and before lunch had seen the War Rooms, the changing of the guard, the Horse Guard, Big Ben and the London Eye. It was seamless, but in retrospect she had us, very pleasantly, on a tight schedule through St. James and Green Parks after Buckingham Palace. By 5 PM we had been through the Tower of London, seen the Tower Bridge and visited the Harry Potter site at Platform 93/4 at Kings Cross Station and back to our hotel in Russell Square. Not only was she a good planner, but was a font of knowledge on London/English history and gave recommendations for planning the rest of our visit. After 5 days in London, Gabriel (11 y/o) told his Mother that his 3 favorite things were seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (recommended by Sue), hearing Big Ben and meeting Sue Hillman. Hiring her was an incredibly good use of time and money. I wouldn’t have done it any other way!

I would suggest a private tour to anyone visiting London. I was able to see a lot of the major sites. My guide was well informed and I learned a lot about each site visited. A great afternoon!

Sue from Lincoln, Nebraska, USA (who had a tour of London and an itinerary planned for Paris)

Our trip was very much a success due to Sue’s efforts and was exactly how I envisioned seeing London and Paris. Sue made every effort to assist with planning our trip as well as spending extra time with us to make sure our day was fulfilled.

Sue was the best tour guide we’ve ever had.  Actually, this is the first time that we got a personal tour guide.  We usually join tours.  But this is the best!  The itinerary was made especially for our family.  All of us enjoyed, even my teenaged kids.  The look on my son’s face when he found and saw what he wanted, was priceless, even Sue felt it.  We had a great time with Sue in London.  We got a taste of being a local!  And the days after that, we did it with ease, because Sue helped us out already.  We were pros, thanks to Sue.

“A fantastic day for garden lovers  touring the hidden and usually inaccessible gardens of London. We were expertly guided around a range of different venues, ranging from the tiny but fascinating Moroccan themed  MaRoCoCo courtyard garden in Belgravia  (and visiting the chocolate shop en route) to the more formally laid out aspect of  the Royal Crescent gardens in Holland Park .Sue had prepared a circular  route to get us back home afterwards and  effortlessly chaperoned us around all of the key gardens ,on foot and using buses. This  enhanced  the quality of the experience considerably  as we were able to pass such iconic places as Harrods with it’s diamond Jubilee window display . and Kensington Gardens taking in the views across the park.    A winning combination of garden delights and London sights “

It’s Your London day out was one of those days you look back on and wondered how you managed to fit it all in!  Sue had scheduled in a list of events for the day including a new exhibition, a national monument, an art fair, a pop-up gallery and the list goes on. But when you understand that the day also included coffee breaks and lunch, afternoon tea and cocktails you’ll know that only a very experienced guide could work this kind of magic.  Truly magnificent! Organised by Sue @ It’s Your London that made it into My London for the day.

Sue is a wonderful guide. She took her time when we wanted to linger but she kept us to our ambitious schedule. She was knowledgeable and polite. Everything we could have wanted to have with us on our journey was either in her brain or in her handbag. Our vacation was brilliant and the shining star was our guide Sue Hillman.

Private Touring

A terrific way of seeing the city is with a small tour company that can create a customized tour. Sue Hillman of It’s Your London, for example, works on a one-on-one basis with visitors to give them a bespoke tour of the city. Armed with a vast knowledge of London and its most popular spots, Hillman pointed out interesting buildings and monuments we might have otherwise walked right past, and shared stories about different neighborhoods and attractions.

May 2010  London Planner ‘s What’s Hot section:

There’s a lot to pack into a holiday in London. Unmissable museums,
awe-inspiring sights, historic West End theatres, leading galleries – not to
mention world-class dining out and shopping. There are, of course, plenty
of companies out there giving a helping hand to visitors, but a useful one
to consider is It’s Your London. Offering three different levels of service
– Taken Care Of, Here to Help, and Independent Traveller – they work
directly with customers to come up with bespoke itineraries, incorporating
the attractions you don’t want to miss as well as suggesting others you
might enjoy. They then sort out the travel arrangements, entry passes and
restaurant tables. Holidays have rarely been so easy.

“It is a clever idea to provide individual sight seeing program of London to such visitors like us who would not like to have the sight seeing in a group. We want to have flexibility.”

“I can’t believe all we fitted into such a brief stay. With your knowledge and enthusiasm Sue, I was able to see “My London, Tailor Made”, thank you for your time in planning and executing a perfect match for me”

“I found the tour organised by Sue Hillman of It’s Your London to be very well planned and informative. The tour included a good mixture sights e.g. The Monument, Borough Market, St Pauls and the oldest hostelry in London. The pace was relaxed, and there was plenty of time to ask questions which were answered in a very freindly and informative way. I would certainly recommend It’s Your London.

“A splendid day at Greenwich- even the weather was just perfect! None the less , it was bettered by excellent organisation, a marvellously evocative boat trip to Greenwich, an atmospheric walk through the markets and the splendid Georgian architecture, not to mention the wonderful museums and the absolutely best choice of a riverside pub lunch. Thank you very much Sue, for a thoroughly super day. we will certainly be using you again on our next trip to London, and have already recommended you to several of our friends. by all means do use this letter if it can help others find a wonderful ambassador for London.”

“Sue made my trip to London a breeze. She always made sure I knew exactly where I was going and how I could get there. My first day there we spent strolling around the London Bridge area. We took in the sights and the beautiful day. The London Tower was very impressive. It was a fantastic day. Portobello Market was one of my favorite things we did. There was so much neat stuff, and the food section blew me away.

Sue knows all the best restaurants, pubs and venues in London. The food was phenomenal. I never had a dull moment. We took in a comedy show one evening that had me in stitches the entire time. Although I am happy to be back in Canada I am looking forward to my next visit to London with Sue.”

The Londonist – a wonderful London blog (londonist.com)

“Tourist Tip: New Site ‘It’s Your London’ Offers Personalised Tours

London can be a big, old confusing place to the newcomer. Why does the British Museum contain hardly anything that’s British? Why do our streets refuse to conform to a grid pattern? How come Oyster doesn’t work on the trains? And as for the London Dungeon…well, just why?

Everyone visitor needs some kind of helping hand, be it a traditional guide book, an audio tour, advice from a friend or, if you’re really savvy, a read through the Londonist archive. But here’s an option that might just beat them all (apart from the last one, of course).

It’s Your London offers a really simple idea. Tell them your interests, budgets and travel arrangements and they’ll pull together a special itinerary just for you. They offer different levels of service – from the simple expedient of an information pack waiting in your hotel room, to a full-on tour with a local expert. They’ll even buy all the tickets you need. Easy.

We’ve seen other sites like this before, most notably Urban Gentry, which specialises in the more stylish clientèle. But there are heaps more of varying degrees of quality. It’s Your London is entering a crowded marketplace of alternative tourism options, but with its chummy, flexible service it deserves to do well. And good on ’em for avoiding the word ‘bespoke’.

London Relocation Services – the people to contact if you are moving to London (londonrelocationservices.com)

“No one will dispute the facts that London is 1) huge, and 2) loaded with amazing and diverse experiences to be had. While this can certainly be listed under the “Pro” (versus “Con”) category where living in or visiting this city is concerned, it can also prove overwhelming. Whether you are open-minded to anything or very precise in your tastes, we are pleased to recommend to you the touring company, It’s Your London.

With It’s Your London, your tour of the city can be anything you want it to be–the itinerary is tailor-made to your interests and fancies. They offer 3 levels of service to suit your level of maintenance–i.e., “Taken Care Of,” “Here to Help,” and “Independent Traveller”–so you can be as led by the hand or left to your own devices as you wish.

It seems there’s no limit to the way you can slice and dice your preferred itinerary–from palaces and museums to gardens and architecture to literary haunts and sports venues, it’s all about what makes you tick and you’d most like to see. I must say I’m already plotting what tour I’d like to arrange for my family visiting in spring…hmm…my bookish self would love the authors or bookshops tours.

Once you move to London, this would be an ideal, time-efficient way for you to become familiar with your new stomping grounds; it would also make for great entertainment for your out-of-town visitors if you don’t wish to do all the planning yourself or are unable to tour them around by day due to work. Just like London Relocation Ltd. aims to take all the thought and stress out of your property searching with it’s all-inclusive service, It’s Your London will do so for your recreational touring. It’s your London now, so make the most of it”
